## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JULY 19, 2026, AT 13:30, AIRCRAFT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ DEPARTED KPSK FOR A PRIVATE AIRSTRIP TO THE SOUTHEAST. DURING APPROACH, THE AIRCRAFT ENCOUNTERED AN UPDRAFT THAT INCREASED AIRSPEED AND EXTENDED THE TOUCHDOWN BEYOND THE ESTABLISHED GO-AROUND POINT. THE PILOT REDUCED SPEED, APPLIED BRAKES, AND MAINTAINED CONTROL THROUGHOUT THE TOUCHDOWN AND ROLLOUT.

DURING THE SUBSEQUENT FAST TAXI, THE AIRCRAFT COLLIDED WITH SMALL GROUND EQUIPMENT. FORWARD VISIBILITY WAS LIMITED BY THE AIRCRAFT'S TAILWHEEL CONFIGURATION. THE IMPACT CAUSED THE LANDING GEAR TO COLLAPSE, RESULTING IN A SECONDARY COLLISION WHERE THE LEFT WING STRUCK ADDITIONAL GROUND EQUIPMENT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA26LA275](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA26LA275), Jul 19, 2026: Jeremy Price Smith Super CUB (N251HF), Allisonia, VA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s inadequate lookout, which resulted in a collision with ground equipment during taxi.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
