## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON THE MORNING OF JULY 22, 2026 BOTH STUDENT AND FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR DEPARTED TTN FOR A COMMERCIAL MULTI-ENGINE TRAINING FLIGHT TO RDG. ONCE AT RDG THE STUDENT INTERCEPTED FINAL APPROACH FOR RUNWAY 31. THE AIRCRAFT CROSSED THE RUNWAY THRESHOLD AT APPROXIMATELY 80 TO 85 KNOTS AND TOUCHED DOWN AT AN ESTIMATED AIRSPEED OF 70 TO 80 KNOTS. THE STUDENT ANNOUNCED "FLAPS UP". THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR WAS MONITORING BOTH OUTSIDE AND INSIDE THE COCKPIT WHILE APPROACHING RUNWAYS 18/36 INTERSECTION WHEN HE NOTICED THE STUDENT REACH FOR AND MOVE THE LANDING GEAR SELECTOR TO THE UP POSITION INSTEAD OF THE FLAP LEVER. THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR ATTEMPTED TO RETURN THE LANDING GEAR SELECTOR TO THE DOWN POSITION HOWEVER DURING LANDING ROLL OUT WITH PARTIAL WEIGHT ON THE GEAR STRUTS THE LANDING GEAR HAD ALREADY BEGUN TO RETRACT AND COLLAPSED UNDER THE AIRCRAFT. THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR THEN ATTEMPTED TO INITIATE A GO-AROUND BUT THE AIRCRAFT SETTLED ONTO ITS BELLY WITH NOSE PITCHING DOWNWARD AND BOTH PROPELLERS CONTACTING THE RUNWAY. THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR BROUGHT BOTH ENGINES TO IDLE. THE AIRCRAFT SLID ALONG RUNWAY 31 COMING TO REST ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY PARTIALLY IN THE GRASS. THE STUDENT SECURED THE ENGINES AND AIRCRAFT. BOTH OCCUPANTS EXITED THE AIRCRAFT WITHOUT INJURY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
