## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

JBU1785 BOS-PIT WHILE DESCENDING INTO PIT ENCOUNTERED SEVERE TURBULENCE FROM CONVECTIVE WEATHER. CAPTAIN STATED HE OBSERVED NO INDICATION OF WEATHER ON RADAR OR WSI PILOTBRIEF. ARCHIVED WEATHER SHOWS THE FLIGHT ENTERED A SIGMET AT THE APPROXIMATE TIME IT WAS ISSUED AND WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN SEEN BY FLIGHT CREW. HE GAVE NO WARNING TO THE INFLIGHT CREW BEYOND INITIAL BRIEF AND HAD SEAT BELT SIGN ON BUT CREW WAS NOT AWARE OF DEVELOPING WEATHER. IFC 2 AND 3 WERE OUT OF THEIR SEATS AND RECEIVED MINOR INJURIES. THE FLIGHT LANDED AND INFLIGHT CREWMEMBERS CONTINUED THEIR FLIGHT PAIRING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
