## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING A SCHEDULED AIRCRAFT INSPECTION, THE CERTIFICATE HOLDER IDENTIFIED A MISSING/DAMAGED PORTION OF THE VERTICAL STABILIZER SKIN. THE PANEL APPEARS TO HAVE BROKEN/SHEARED AND SEPERATED FROM THE AIRCRAFT DURING FLIGHT AT AN UNDETERMINED DATE AND TIME. THE BROKEN PANEL CAUSED MINOR DAMAGE TO THE RUDDER AND THE LEFT ELEVATOR WHEN IT TORE OFF THE AIRCRAFT. THE CERTIFICATE HOLDER INDICATED THAT A SERVICE DIFFICULTY REPORT (SDR) WILL BE SUBMITTED ACCORDINGLY. THE CERTIFICATE HOLDER HAS ALSO REPORTED THIS TO THE AIRCRAFT MANUFACTURER.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
