## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON AUGUST 15, 2026, AT APPROXIMATELY 0900 LOCAL TIME, A MAGNI M24 GYROPLANE WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT DURING TAKEOFF FROM A 600-FOOT GRASS RUNWAY. THE PILOT REJECTED THE TAKEOFF BUT WAS UNABLE TO PROPERLY ENGAGE THE HANDBRAKE. THE AIRCRAFT OVERRAN THE RUNWAY, ENTERED A POND, AND CAME TO REST ON ITS LEFT SIDE IN APPROXIMATELY 3.5 FEET OF WATER. DURING THE OVERRUN, A ROTOR BLADE STRUCK THE GROUND, RESULTING IN DAMAGE TO THE ROTOR BLADE, TAIL, AND RUDDER. THE GYROPLANE SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE ROTOR SYSTEM, TAIL ASSEMBLY, AND RUDDER. THE PILOT SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN26LA298](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN26LA298), Aug 15, 2026: Rotor Effects M24 Plus (N91JL), Waelder, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s improper execution of rejected takeoff procedures, which resulted in loss of control and subsequent runway excursion.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
