## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON AUGUST 30, 2026, AT APPROXIMATELY 1135 HOURS, MATHEW SCOTT WILSON DEPARTED HANGAR 1 AS PILOT IN COMMAND (PIC) OF AIRCRAFT N203AG AT MACARTHUR AIRPORT (ISP) AND TAXIED VIA TAXIWAY BRAVO TOWARD RUNWAY 24 TO CONDUCT A SOLO FLIGHT.

AFTER RECEIVING CLEARANCE TO ENTER THE RUNWAY, AND WHILE APPROACHING THE CENTERLINE OF RUNWAY 24, THE PILOT REPORTED NOTICING LOW ROTOR RPM, FOLLOWED BY SIGNIFICANT PRESSURE ON THE CONTROL STICK AND BEFORE HE COULD INCREASE ROTOR RPM THERE WAS AN IMPACT. UNAWARE OF THE NATURE OF THE INCIDENT AT THE TIME, HE RETURNED TO THE HANGAR, WHERE IT WAS SUBSEQUENTLY DISCOVERED THAT THE MAIN ROTOR HAD CONTACTED THE PROPELLER AND RUDDER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA26LA324](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA26LA324), Aug 30, 2026: CSP Leasing Cavalon (N203AG), Ronkonkoma, NY, substantial damage, investigation ongoing

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
