## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 9/12/26 AT APPROXIMATELY 12:43PM, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, A SONEX XENOS ELECTRIC MOTORGLIDER, WAS DEPARTING MVY ON RWY 6. THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN THE ROLL PAST TAXIWAY D. A CROSSWIND OCCURRED AND BLEW FROM THE RIGHT. THE TAIL LIFTED AND THE RUDDER LOST AUTHORITY TO COMMAND THE AIRCRAFT TO STAY ON THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT WAS OBSERVED VEERING OFF OF THE RUNWAY INTO THE RSA. THE AIRCRAFT LEFT THE SURFACE OF THE RUNWAY AND STRUCK TWO TAXI LIGHTS AND THE INNER PAPI LIGHT. THE AIRCRAFT WAS REMOVED THEN TAXIED UNDER ITS OWN POWER BACK TO THE OWNERS' HANGAR. DAMAGE CONSISTS OF THE FOLLOWING: THE WINGSPAN IS A TOTAL OF 45.8 FEET. THE RIGHT WING HAS LEADING EDGE DAMAGE TOTALING 6 INCHES LOCATED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WING AREA. THE LEFT WING HAS 41 INCHES OF DAMAGE AT THE MID WING LENGTH POINT. THIS FALLS BELOW 10 PERCENT OF THE TOTAL WING LENGTH, WHICH DETERMINES THIS TO BE MINOR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. NO DAMAGE NOTED TO THE FUSELAGE, ENGINE, OR GEAR. THE SOLE PILOT ON BOARD SELF EGRESSED, NO INJURIES. THE ONLY GROUND DAMAGE WAS THE TAXI LIGHTS AND PAPI LIGHT, THERE WERE NO OTHER GROUND INJURIES. NTSB HAS BEEN NOTIFIED, AND THE FAA IN CONTACT WITH THE IIC.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
