## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON THE EVENING OF 9-16-2026, THE PILOT AND A GIRLFRIEND TOOK OFF FROM KJVY ENROUTE TO 64I IN A C172. THEY MADE AN APPROACH AND LANDING, THEN TAXXIED BACK FOR ANOTHER TAKEOFF. ATTEMPTED TO TAKEOFF, BUT ABORTED THE TAKEOFF, DUE TO THE PILOT STATING IT DIDN'T FEEL RIGHT. THE PILOT STATED THAT IT FELT LIKE THE PLANE WAS NOT DEVELOPING FULL POWER. SO, THEY TAXXIED BACK FOR ANOTHER TRY, INSTEAD THIS TIME ADDED 10 DEGREES OF FLAPS. THE PILOT STATED THAT SHE ROTATED, THEN LEVELED OFF TO ACCELERATE INTO VX CLIMBOUT, BUT NOTICED THE TREES AT THE END OF THE RUNWAY APPROACHING. FOCUSING ON HER AIRSPEED, NOTING IT WAS LOW, SHE PITCHED DOWN TO ACCELERATE. WHEN SHE DID THIS, SHE SAW THE HOUSE AND STRUCK THE ROOF OF THE HOUSE WITH THE LEFT LANDING GEAR, WHICH IT SEPARATED FROM THE AIRCRAFT AND HAD FALLEN INSIDE THE TOP FLOOR OF THE HOME. FROM THERE THE PILOT STATED SHE DIDN'T REMEMBER ANYTHING AFTER THAT, OTHER THAN THE AIRCRAFT FLIPPING UPSIDE DOWN AND STRIKING THE GROUND. THE PILOT EXITED THE AIRCRAFT WITH HER PASSENGER SHORTLY THEREAFTER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
