## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 9/20/2026, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ PROCEEDED TO FLY FROM KMVN (MOUNT VERNON, IL) TO 14G (FREMONT, OH). DUE TO DETERIORATING WEATHER, PILOT PROCEEDED TO DIVERT TO KAOH (ALLEN COUNTY AIRPORT. LIMA, OH), AVOIDING CLOUDS WHILE ATTEMPTING TO FIND THE AIRPORT WITH HIS CHARTS. ONCE ESTABLISHED ON DOWNWIND AND BASE, PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, PROCEEDED TO PUT THE GEAR DOWN ON THE DOWNWIND LEG, BUT COULD NOT LOCK THE GEAR INTO PLACE WITH THE SECONDARY LEVER THAT SECURED THE GEAR LEVER IN THE UP OR DOWN POSITION. THOUGH THE SECONDARY LEVER COULD NOT BE SECURED, THE PILOT EVENTUALLY SAW THREE GREEN LIGHTS CONFIRMING THE LANDING GEAR IN THE EXTENDED POSITION. PILOT PROCEEDED TO EXTEND FLAPS FOR LANDING AND MADE A SMOOTH TOUCHDOWN AS A PRECAUTION. GEAR COLLAPSED AFTER LANDING.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
