## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 9/21/2026 AT ABOUT 14:47 AKL, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, A CESSNA 206 ON FLOATS, ATTEMPTED TO TAKE OFF FROM S LAKE, LOCATED ABOUT 30 MILES FROM LIME VILLAGE, AK, WITH 1 PILOT, 3 PASSENGERS AND BAGGAGE. THE PIC MADE SEVERAL TAKEOFF ATTEMPTS BUT WAS UNABLE TO ACHIEVE SUFFICIENT SPEED FOR TAKEOFF. AFTER RETURNING TO SHORE, ABOUT 100 LBS OF BAGGAGE WAS REMOVED FROM THE AIRCRAFT. THE NEXT ATTEMPT TO TAKE OFF WAS ABORTED DUE TO THE FAILURE OF THE AIRCRAFT TO GET AIRBORNE RESULTING IN THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTING THE LAKE AND COMING TO REST ABOUT 20 FEET INLAND OF THE SHORELINE. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT WAS MINOR.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR26LA361](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR26LA361), Sep 21, 2026: Cessna U206G (N1797R), Stony River, AK, substantial damage, investigation ongoing

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
