## Probable cause

The pilot's premature power reduction, which resulted in a runway undershoot.

## Findings

NTSB's coded findings; those marked are part of the probable cause.

## Analysis

The pilot was landing the airplane on a runway surrounded by snow berms. He reported that, as the airplane approached the runway threshold, he reduced engine power to flight idle to descend, and the airplane's main landing gear collided with the snow berm at the approach end of the runway. A postflight inspection revealed substantial damage to the left wheel well bulkhead assembly. The pilot said that there were no preaccident mechanical anomalies with the airplane.

## Factual narrative

The pilot was landing a twin-engine turboprop airplane on a runway surrounded by snow berms. The pilot reported that as he approached the runway threshold, he reduced engine power to flight idle to descend, and the airplane's main landing gear collided with the snow berm at the approach end of the runway. A postflight inspection revealed substantial damage to the left wheel well bulkhead assembly. The pilot said that there were no preaccident mechanical anomalies with the airplane.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
