THE ACFT COLLIDED WITH TREES DURING AN ATTEMPTED GO-AROUND AFTER AN ABORTED LANDING ON A FROZEN LAKE. THE PILOT LANDED TOWARD THE VILLAGE AND FOUND THE BRAKING ACTION ON THE SNOW COVERED ICE WAS NON EXISTENT. A GO-AROUND WAS ATTEMPTED BUT NOT ENOUGH ALTITUDE WAS OBTAINED BEFORE REACHING THE SHORELINE AND THE TREES. THE LAKE ICE HAD BEEN SELECTED FOR LANDINGBECAUSE OF THE RWYS POOR CONDITION.

- [Accident 19830311007289A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19830311007289A), Mar 11, 1983: Piper PA32300, Pedro Bay, AK, Substantial damage. No braking action after landing on a frozen lake. Began a go around. Unable to clear trees. Stalled into tree tops.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
