## Analysis

THE ACFT COLLIDED WITH THE GROUND AFTER THE PILOT LOST CONTROL OF IT DURING TAKEOFF. THE FLT STARTED AS AN AIR TAXI OPERATION BUT WHEN THE PILOT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL IN 2 TAKEOFF ATTEMPTS HE OFF LOADED HIS PASSENGERS UNTO ANOTHER ACFT. THIS STOL MODIFIED ACFT BECAME UNCONTROLLABLE AS THE PILOT ATTEMPTED A THIRD TAKEOFF ALONE. WHEN THE ACFT HIT THE GROUNDTHE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED. THE PILOT STATED THAT MORE EMPHASIS SHOULD BE GIVEN TO LOW SPEED OPERATION OF MODIFIED ACFT.

## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

- [Accident 19830910047909A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19830910047909A), Sep 10, 1983: Cessna 207, Umiat, AK, Substantial damage. Pilot was attempting takeoff from short sandbar. Robertson modified stol aircraft stalled and crashed.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
