THE ACFT SWERVED ON THE OVER GROWN RWY AND WHEN THE PLT PARTIALLY CORRECTED THE SWERVING THE ACFT WENT OFF THE RWYS END AND NOSED OVER. THE PLT SAID HE HAD CHECKED THE AIRSTRIP OUT ON A SOLO FLT AND HAD NO PROBLEMS. WHEN HE RETURNED TO THE UNMAINTAINED STRIP WITH A PASSENGER AND HAD A DIRECTIONAL CONTROL PROBLEM HE MANTAINED PARTIAL CONTROL BUT COULD NOT PREVENT THE NOSE OVER. THE BRUSH ON THE STRIP WAS ABOUT SHOULDER HEIGHT ON AN AVERAGE MAN.

## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

- [Accident 19840705029969A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19840705029969A), Jul 5, 1984: Piper PA12, Curry, AK, Substantial damage. Pilot landed on airstrip that was overgrown with brush that was shoulder high. Aircraft flipped over.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
