## Probable cause

PILOT-IN-COMMAND'S FAILURE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE HELICOPTER DURING TOUCHDOWN.

## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- Loss of control - on ground/water, landing - flare/touchdown
  - aircraft control - improper, pilot in command (cause)
  - directional control - not maintained, pilot in command (cause)
- Roll over, landing - flare/touchdown

## Analysis

DURING TOUCHDOWN ON THE RAMP, THE PILOT LOST CONTROL OF THE HELICOPTER. THE HELICOPTER ROLLED OVER ON ITS SIDE, THE PILOT WAS NOT INJURED, AND THE HELICOPTER WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED. EXAMINATION OF THE HELICOPTER REVEALED THE RIGHT TORISION BAR HAD COLLAPSED.
