## Probable cause

THE PILOT'S POOR JUDGEMENT, DUE TO CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL, AND HIS FAILURE TO MAINTAIN DIRECTIONAL CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT DURING THE TAKEOFF RUN.

THE PILOT SUBMITTED TO AN ALCOHOL INTOXIMETER TEST ABOUT 24 MIN AFTER THE ACCIDENT. THE TEST INDICATED A BLOOD/ALCOHOL LEVEL OF 269 MG% (0.269%).

- [Accident 19900822035229A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19900822035229A), Aug 22, 1990: Cessna A185F, Nenana, AK, Substantial damage. Lost control of floatplane on takeoff from a pond. Aircraft struck shore and flipped over. Pilot blood alchol .269.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
