## Probable cause

The pilot's failure to obtain/maintain adequate airspeed during the takeoff/initial climb which resulted in an inadvertent stall and subsequent collision with terrain.

## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- Loss of control - in flight, takeoff - initial climb
  - airspeed - not obtained/maintained, pilot in command (cause)
  - stall - inadvertent, pilot in command (cause)
- In flight collision with terrain/water, descent - uncontrolled

## Analysis

The pilot reported that he refueled the airplane and completed a normal preflight inspection of the airplane before the takeoff. The pilot further stated that after liftoff the airplane turned left about 45 degrees. According to the pilot, the airplane stalled and collided with the ground. No mechanical problems with the airplane were reported by the pilot. The pilot also stated that he should have aborted the takeoff.
