## Analysis

WHILE CONDUCTING A LOCAL AIRCRAFT CHECKOUT, THE AIRCRAFT WAS OBSERVED FLYING LOW PRIOR TO PULLING UP TO AVOID COLLIDING WITH A UTILITY LINE CROSSING THE INTENDED FLT PATH. THE AIRCRAFT CRASHED INTO AN OPEN FIELD IN A NOSE LOW VERTICAL ATTITUDE. THE POST IMPACT FIRE DESTROYED THE AIRCRAFT. THE INVESTIGATION FAILED TO DISCLOSE ANY AIRCRAFT PROBLEM PRIOR TO IMPACT. THE PILOTS WERE CERTIFICATED AND CURRENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH EXISTING FAR'S. THE EXACT MANEUVER IN WHICH THE FLIGHT WAS PERFORMING WAS NOT DETERMINED. HOWEVER, THE IMPACT PATTERN WAS INDICATIVE OF A STALL.

## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

- [Accident 19870320007019A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19870320007019A), Mar 20, 1987: Beech C23, Semora, NC, Destroyed, 3 fatal. The aircraft stalled into the ground after a pull up to avoid wires. The pilots were flying dangerously low.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
