## Probable cause

THE AIRPLANE COLLIDED WITH THE STEEL POLE WHICH SUPPORTS THE WINDSOCK WHILE THE PILOT MANEUVERED TO AVOID A COLLISION WITH A DEER ON THE RUNWAY.

## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- In flight collision with object, landing - aborted
  - object - animal(s) (cause)

## Analysis

AFTER LANDING ON RUNWAY 34, THE PILOT ATTEMPTED A GO-AROUND TO AVOID COLLIDING WITH A DEER THAT CAME OUT OF A WOODED AREA ONTO THE RUNWAY. DURING THE INITIAL CLIMB, THE PILOT SWERVED THE AIRPLANE RIGHT AND COLLIDED WITH THE STEEL POLE WHICH SUPPORTS THE WINDSOCK.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
