## Probable cause

THE PILOT'S OPERATION OF HIS AIRCRAFT IN EXCEEDINGLY HIGH WIND CONDITIONS.

## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- Nose over, taxi - from landing
  - weather condition - high wind (contributing factor)
  - weather evaluation - inadequate, pilot in command (cause)

## Analysis

THE PILOT STATED HE HAD JUST LANDED ON RUNWAY 23 AND STARTED A LEFT TURN TO CLEAR THE RUNWAY. HE ALSO ADDED THAT SURFACE WINDS AT THE TIME WERE REPORTED TO BE FROM 230 DEGREES AT 30 KNOTS GUSTING TO 40 KNOTS AND THE RUNWAY WAS WET. AS THE AIRCRAFT TURNED, IT FIRST TIPPED ON ITS NOSE TO LEFT AND THEN ROLLED INVERTED, LANDING 30 FEET SOUTH OF THE RUNWAY.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
