## Probable cause

Aircraft control not maintained by pilot during landing.

## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- Nose over, landing - roll
  - aircraft control - not maintained, pilot in command (cause)

## Analysis

The airplane sustained substantial damage when it nosed over during landing roll at the pilot's private airstrip. The pilot reported, "Upon touchdown-over controlled nose elevation and applied brakes too hard-had prop strike and flipped plane on back."

## Factual narrative

On November 12, 2001, at 1700 central standard time, an experimental Schenfield Acro Sport II, N90287, sustained substantial damage when it nosed over during landing roll. The 14 CFR Part 91 personal flight had departed a private grass airstrip at a neighboring farmstead located near Keosauqua, Iowa, at 1630, and was en route to the pilot's grass airstrip. The private pilot was not injured. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed and no flight plan was filed.

The pilot reported, "Upon touchdown-over controlled nose elevation and applied brakes too hard-had prop strike and flipped plane on back."

## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
