## Probable cause

The obstruction clearance not maintained by the pilot during an aerial application of a field and the subsequent hard landing onto the field. Contributing factors were the power line and rough/uneven terrain.

## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- In flight collision with object, maneuvering - aerial application
  - altitude/clearance - not maintained, pilot in command (cause)
  - object - wire,transmission (contributing factor)
- Hard landing, descent - uncontrolled
  - terrain condition - rough/uneven (contributing factor)

## Analysis

The agricultural airplane struck power lines during an aerial application and experienced a hard landing resulting in substantial damage to the airplane when it impacted a field. No mechanical anomalies that would have precluded normal airplane operation were reported.
