## Analysis

THEY THEN FOUND THE ACFT WHICH HAD PENETRATED A WOODED AREA AT A 70 DEG ANGLE OF DESCENT. AFTER BEING TOLD OF THE CRASH, A FBO TOOK OFF TO LOCATE THE ACFT, BUT BECAUSE OF THE LOW CEILING HE HAD TO RETURN ALMOST IMMEDIATELY TO THE ARPT.

## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

- [Accident 19830123001529A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19830123001529A), Jan 23, 1983: Piper PA22150, Siren, WI, Destroyed, 1 fatal. Lost control in near zero visibility with fog and freezing drizzle. Vertical impact into trees. No weather briefing

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
