## Probable cause

THE PILOT MISJUDGED THE LANDING FLARE AND THE AIRPLANE STALLED AND LANDED HARD.

## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- Loss of control - in flight, landing - flare/touchdown
  - flare - excessive, pilot in command (cause)
  - stall/mush - inadvertent, pilot in command
- Hard landing, landing - flare/touchdown
- Main gear collapsed, taxi - from landing

## Analysis

DURING LANDING, THE AIRPLANE WAS FLARED TOO HIGH. THE AIRPLANE STALLED 8 TO 10 FEET ABOVE THE GROUND AND COLLIDED WITH THE RUNWAY. THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED AS THE AIRPLANE TAXIED OFF THE RUNWAY.
