## Probable cause

THE PILOT'S IMPROPER RECOVERY FROM A BOUNCED LANDING. FACTORS WERE: EXCESSIVE AIRSPEED AND THE PILOT'S LACK OF TOTAL EXPERIENCE.

## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- In flight collision with terrain/water, landing - flare/touchdown
  - terrain condition - runway
  - recovery from bounced landing - improper, pilot in command (cause)
  - lack of total experience, pilot in command
- Nose down, landing - roll

## Analysis

ACCORDING TO THE PILOT'S STATEMENT, SHE MADE TWO ATTEMPTS TO LAND BUT WENT AROUND BECAUSE OF TOO MUCH AIRSPEED. THE PILOT SAID 'THE THIRD TIME I LANDED WITH TOO MUCH AIRSPEED, BOUNCED, PUSHED THE NOSE DOWN, COLLAPSED THE NOSE GEAR, THE PROP HIT THE RUNWAY. THE PLANE SKIDDED TO A STOP AND I GOT OUT'.
