## Probable cause

DIRECTIONAL CONTROL WAS NOT MAINTAINED BY THE PILOT. FACTORS RELATED TO THE ACCIDENT WERE: A LACK OF TOTAL EXPERIENCE BY THE PILOT AND THE PRESENCE OF A SNOWBANK ADJACENT TO THE RUNWAY.

## Sequence of events

- Loss of control - on ground/water, landing - roll
  - directional control - not maintained, pilot in command (cause)
  - lack of total experience, pilot in command (contributing factor)
- On ground/water encounter with terrain/water, landing - roll
  - terrain condition - snowbank (contributing factor)

## Analysis

## Other investigations on N5363Q (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

Probable cause: the student pilot's poor in-flight planning and decision making during the approach to landing/go around. Related factors are his inadequate compensation for crosswind wind conditions.
