## Probable cause

WAS AN INADVERTENT STALL/MUSH DURING LANDING BY THE PILOT. A FACTOR RELATED TO THE ACCIDENT WAS LACK OF RECENT TOTAL EXPERIENCE.

## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- Hard landing, landing
  - stall - inadvertent, pilot in command (cause)
  - lack of recent total experience, pilot in command (contributing factor)

## Analysis

THE PILOT SAID THE AIRPLANE STALLED ON SHORT FINAL AND COLLIDED WITH THE RUNWAY. THE HARD LANDING RESULTED IN SUBSTANTIAL WING AND AIRFRAME DAMAGE.

## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

- [Accident 19920426011559A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19920426011559A), Apr 26, 1992: Piper PA32260, Sidney, NE, Substantial damage. Leveled off too high, stalled and dropped to runway. Impact bent both wings and motor mounts. Gusty surface wind.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
