## Analysis

THE PILOT STATED THAT HE WAS CONCENTRATING ON TOUCHING DOWN AT THE END OF THE RUNWAY AND DID NOT SEE THE FENCE AT THE END OF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRPLANE UNDERSHOT THE RUNWAY DURING THE LANDING AND CONTACTED ONE FENCE POST.

## Factual narrative

On September 3, 1993, at 1100 central daylight time, a Bellanca 17-30, N6582V, registered to John D. The airplane sustained substantial damage. The pilot and one passenger reported no injuries. The personal 14 CFR Part 91 flight was being conducted in visual meteorological conditions. No flight plan was on file. the flight departed Bloomington, Illinois at 0930.

## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

- [Accident 19930903032989A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19930903032989A), Sep 3, 1993: Blanca 1730, Blakesburg, IA, Substantial damage. Struck a fence off approach end of runway trying to land on the numbers. Hit fence post before stopping.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
