## Probable cause

the pilot's excessive braking while taxiing from landing.

## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- Nose over, taxi - from landing
  - brakes(normal) - excessive, pilot in command (cause)

## Analysis

THE TAILWHEEL AIRPLANE NOSED-OVER ON THE PRIVATE GRASS AIRSTRIP WHILE TAXIING AFTER LANDING. THE PILOT REPORTED THE AIRPLANE'S BRAKES WERE SENSITIVE, AND THAT SHE INADVERTENTLY APPLIED EXCESSIVE BRAKE PEDAL PRESSURE WHILE TAXIING, CAUSING THE AIRPLANE TO NOSE-OVER.

## Factual narrative

On October 10, 1994, about 1330 central daylight time, A Great Lakes model 2T-1A-2 airplane, N933EB, sustained substantial damage when it nosed-over while taxiing from landing at a private airstrip near Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin. The Airline Transport certificated pilot and the sole passenger aboard reported no injuries. The local pleasure flight departed Racine, Wisconsin about 1215, and operated in visual meteorological conditions without a flight plan.

The pilot reported she applied the brakes excessively while taxiing from landing and the airplane nosed-over.

## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

- [Accident 19941010037629A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19941010037629A), Oct 10, 1994: Grtlks 2T1A2, Mt Horeb, WI, Substantial damage. Nosed over while back taxiing on grass runway. Sensitive brakes. Applied too hard. Nosed over.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
