## Probable cause

the pilot's failure to maintain directional control during the landing, resulting in a ground loop.

## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- Loss of control - on ground/water, landing - roll
  - directional control - not maintained, pilot in command (cause)
  - ground loop/swerve - inadvertent, pilot in command

## Analysis

The pilot stated that he lost directional control while landing. Subsequently, the airplane ground-looped and nosed over. The pilot stated that the wind was not a factor in the loss of directional control.

## Factual narrative

The pilot stated he lost directional control while landing on runway 12. Subsequently, the airplane ground-looped and nosed over. The pilot stated that the wind was not a factor in the loss of directional control. The pilot sustained minor injuries and passenger was not injured. Examination of the airplane revealed the vertical stabilizer was bent.
