## Analysis

THE PLT WAS CIRCLING GND PSNL AT 300 TO 500 FT AGL, BANKING UP TO 60 DEG, WHEN THE ENG QUIT. AN ENG RESTART WAS SUCCESSFUL; HOWEVER, THE ACFT WAS TOO LOW TO RECOVER & IT COLLIDED WITH A FENCE. AFTER HITTING THE FENCE, THE ACFT CRASHED TO THE GND & WAS DAMAGED. A POST ACDNT ENG RUN & MAGNETO CHECK WERE NORMAL. AN EXAM OF THE ACFT DID NOT REVEAL ANY EVIDENCE OF A PRE-ACDNT FAILURE OR DEFICIENCY.

## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

- [Accident 19870613079649A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19870613079649A), Jun 13, 1987: Cessna A185E, Norwood, CO, Substantial damage. Engine quit in a steep turn over pilots farm field. Started again too late. Hit a fence. Blamed fuel unporting.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
