## Probable cause

THE PILOT'S INADVERTENT ACTIVATION OF THE LANDING GEAR SWITCH CAUSING THE LANDING GEAR TO COLLAPSE WHILE THE AIRCRAFT WAS STILL ON THE LANDING ROLL.

## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- Gear collapsed, landing - roll
  - gear retraction - inadvertent activation, pilot in command (cause)

## Analysis

DURING A NORMAL FULL STOP LANDING, THE PILOT INADVERTENTLY ACTIVATED THE LANDING GEAR SWITCH WHILE THE AIRCRAFT WAS STILL ON THE LANDING ROLL. THE GEAR COLLAPSED CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE LANDING GEAR SYSTEM. NO MALFUNCTION IN THE LANDING GEAR SYSTEM WAS FOUND.

## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

- [Accident 19910324046769A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19910324046769A), Mar 24, 1991: Beech H35, Greeley, CO, Substantial damage. Landing gear collapsed on landing roll. Failed to check down and locked. Damage indicates gear in transit landing.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
