## Probable cause

A BLOWN TIRE AND BOTH PILOTS' FAILURE TO MAINTAIN DIRECTIONAL CONTROL.

## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

## Analysis

THE PRIVATE PILOT AND THE INSTRUCTOR PILOT HAD BEEN PRACTICING VARIOUS TYPES OF TAKEOFFS AND LANDINGS. UPON TOUCHDOWN, THE AIRPLANE VEERED TO THE RIGHT AND DEPARTED THE RUNWAY. THE RIGHT WING DROPPED AND THE PROPELLER STRUCK THE GROUND. THE AIRPLANE THEN COLLIDED WITH A TAXIWAY SIGN AND THE RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED. POSTACCIDENT EXAMINATION DISCLOSED THE RIGHT MAIN TIRE HAD BLOWN.

## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

- [Accident 19910712029599A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19910712029599A), Jul 12, 1991: Beech 95B55, Denver, CO, Substantial damage. Right main tire went flat on landing roll. Veered off runway. Struck taxiway sign. Right gear then collapsed.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
