ACCORDING TO THE PILOT, DURING HIS TAKEOFF CLIMB, HE ENCOUNTERED A DOWNDRAFT AND WAS UNABLE TO PREVENT HIS AIRSPEED FROM DROPPING DANGEROUSLY LOW AS HE TRIED TO MAINTAIN FLIGHT. HE SAID HE WAS FORCED TO MAKE A FORCED LANDING BEFORE THE AIRCRAFT STALLED. THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK THE GROUND IN A RELATIVELY FLAT ATTITUDE AND THEN STRUCK SOME RISING TERRAIN.

## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

- [Accident 19910902037389A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19910902037389A), Sep 2, 1991: Boeing A75N1, Lordsburg, NM, Substantial damage. Unable to climb after takeoff above 200 feet AGL. Settled into rough field.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
