## Probable cause

THE PILOT DELAYED INITIATION OF THE GO AROUND. A FACTOR WAS: HIGH DENSITY ALTITUDE.

## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- In flight collision with object, go-around (vfr)
  - object - tree(s)
  - go-around - delayed, pilot in command (cause)
  - weather condition - high density altitude (contributing factor)

## Analysis

WHILE CONDUCTING TOUCH AND GO LANDINGS, THE PILOT INITIATED A GO AROUND AT APPROXIMATELY MID FIELD ON A 1,850 FOOT AIRSTRIP AT A DENSITY ALTITUDE OF 8,300 FEET WITH A FIVE TO 10 KNOT TAILWIND. THE AIRCRAFT FAILED TO CLEAR TREES AT THE END OF THE RUNWAY DURING THE GO AROUND.

## Other investigations on N1874A (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
