## Factual narrative

The government of India has notified the NTSB of an incident involving an Airbus A320 airplane that occurred on December 23, 2019. A GoAir Airbus A320-271N Neo powered by two Pratt & Whitney PW1127G-JM geared turbofan engines experienced an inflight shutdown of one of the engines during its flight from Guwahati Airport, Indian to Kolkata Airport, India. The airplane performed an air turn back and an uneventful landing was made. Post landing engine inspection confirmed a low pressure turbine 3rd stage blade failure. The NTSB has appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative as the state of manufacturer of the engine to assist the government of India in their investigation under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13. All investigative information will be released by the government of India.
