## Factual narrative

On November 10, 2008, at 1824 universal coordinated time, a Cirrus SR22, German registration D-EPRM, was substantially damaged during a forced landing in Turriaco, Italy. The Italian certificated private pilot was seriously injured and the three passengers were uninjured. An instrument flight rules flight plan was filed for the flight, from Bari International Airport (LIBD), Bari, Italy, to Padova Airport (LIPU), Padova, Italy. The flight was operating under Italian flight regulations. According to Italian authorities, approaching Padova, the flight encountered adverse weather conditions, and pilot decided to divert to Venice Marco Polo Airport (LIPZ), Venice, Italy. The pilot subsequently decided to proceed to Ronchi dei Legionari Airport (LIPQ), Trieste, Italy, and while approaching the airport, the engine lost power, resulting in the forced landing. The accident investigation is under the jurisdiction of the government of Italy.
