## Factual narrative

On April 20, 2012, at 1735 UTC, a Beech C90A, Brazilian registration PP-WCA, was destroyed when it impacted the ground shortly after takeoff from Comandante Rolim Adolfo Amaro State Airport (SBJD), Jundiaí, Brazil. The pilot was fatally injured. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time for the intended local flight. According to preliminary information from the government of Brazil, the airplane departed from runway 36 and shortly after takeoff, the pilot declared an emergency and prepared for a landing on runway 18. Soon after, the pilot canceled the emergency condition, stating that he had solved the problem. After a few seconds, the pilot requested to join the base leg for runway 36 directly. When he entered the base leg of the traffic pattern, the airplane rolled and impacted the ground about 180 meters from the threshold of runway 36. A post-crash fire ensued, severely damaging the airplane. This accident investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Aeronautical Accident Prevention and Investigation Center (CENIPA) of Brazil.
