## Factual narrative

On August 9, 2015, about 2200 coordinated universal time, a Cessna 172N, Colombian registration TI-BAA, was destroyed when it impacted terrain during a rejected landing at Pizarro Airport (SK-195), Bajo Baudo, Colombia. The two pilots and one passenger were fatally injured. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed for the flight that was conducted under Colombian flight regulations. According to preliminary information from the Government of Colombia, the airplane had a false registration of TI-BOG. Additionally, the departure point and ultimate destination were unknown. The pilot made a long landing and subsequently tried to take off again when the airplane impacted terrain at the edge of a rainforest. The investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Government of Colombia.
