- Loss of engine power(partial) - mech failure/malf, approach - vfr pattern - final approach
  - emergency procedure - simulated, pilot in command (contributing factor)

  - remedial action - improper, dual student (contributing factor)
  - judgment - poor, pilot in command (cause)
- Complete gear collapsed, landing - flare/touchdown
  - wheels up landing - inadvertent, pilot in command (cause)

## Analysis

DURING A DUAL INSTRUCTION ENGINE OUT IN A TWO ENGINE AIRCRAFT A GO AROUND WAS ATTEMPTED BY THE STUDENT PILOT BECAUSE OF CONFLICTING TRAFFIC IN THE PATTERN. THE AIRCRAFT DEVELOPED A HIGH SINK RATE AND THE CFI LANDED THE AIRCRAFT WHEELS UP. THE STUDENT RAISED THE LANDING GEAR INSTEAD OF THE FLAPS.

- [Accident 19820322004799A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19820322004799A), Mar 22, 1982: Cessna 310B, West Memphis, AR, Substantial damage. Multi engine student pilot retracted gear during go around and aircraft hit ground gear up.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
