## Analysis

THE PILOT STATED THAT HE FELT AN EXCESS ROLL TENDENCY AND HAD TAKEN HIS HAND FROM THE THROTTLE. THE AIRCRAFT WOULD NOT GAIN ALTITUDE AND AIRSPEED COULD NOT BE MAINTAINED. HE REALIZED THAT THE THROTTLE HAD BACKED OFF FROM CLIMB POWER AND REAPPLIED FULL POWER BUT PULLED BACK ON THE CONTROL YOKE WHEN HE MOVED THE THROTTLE FORWARD. THE AIRCRAFT STALLED AT AN ALTITUDE OF APPROXIMATELY 75 TO 100 FEET AGL.

## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

- [Accident 19820418011849A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19820418011849A), Apr 18, 1982: Amtrev VOLKSPLNEVP1, Moody, TX, Substantial damage. Pilot removed hand from throttle during takeoff, engine pwoer reduced and aircraft stalled during pilot recovery.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
