## Analysis

THE PILOT STATED THAT ON HIS SECOND APPROACH FOR A TOUCH AND GO LANDING, THE AIRCRAFT WAS A LITTLE HIGH ON FINAL. HE REDUCED POWER TO COMPLETE A SHORT FIELD LANDING ON THE SOD STRIP. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED MODERATELY HARD IN A FLAT ATTITUDE AND THE NOSE GEAR AXLE SHEARED OFF. THE NOSE GEAR THEN DUG INTO THE GROUND AND THE AIRCRAFT NOSED OVER.

## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

- [Accident 19820523018209A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19820523018209A), May 23, 1982: Univar 415C, Sand Springs, OK, Substantial damage. Pilot made hard landing causing nose gear to break off resulting in aircraft flipping inverted.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
