## Analysis

THE ACFT MADE A FORCED LANDING IN A PLOWED FIELD AFTER COLLIDING WITH A LOW HANGING TRANSMISSION WIRE OVER A FIELD BEINGSPRAYED. THE PLT APPLIED FULL POWER AFTER THE COLLISION BUT A DAMAGED AND LOCKED UP ELEVATOR CAUSED EXCURSIONS OF CLIMBING, STALLING AND DIVING UNTIL THE PILOT WAS ABLE TO CHOP POWER, ADD FLAPS AND LAND AT THE BOTTOM OF ONE OF THESE MANEUVERS. THE ACFT NOSED OVER DUE TO THE SOFT PLOWED FIELD.

## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

- [Accident 19830825043869A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19830825043869A), Aug 25, 1983: Airtrc AT301, Plaquemine, LA, Substantial damage. Aircraft hit wire during aerial application flight which jammed elevator up. Crash occurred during landing attempt.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
