## Probable cause

LOSS OF ENGINE POWER. A FACTOR WAS THE LACK OF SUITABLE TERRAIN FOR FORCED LANDING.

## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- Loss of engine power(total) - mech failure/malf, maneuvering - aerial application
  - compressor assembly,impeller - failure,total (cause)
- Forced landing, descent - emergency
- Nose over, landing - roll
  - terrain condition - none suitable (contributing factor)

## Analysis

DURING AGRICULTURE OPERATIONS THE AIRPLANE LOST TOTAL ENGINE POWER WHILE MANEUVERING DUE TO A FAILED IMPELLER IN THE SUPERCHARGER SECTION. DURING THE SUBSEQUENT FORCED LANDING THE AIRPLANE NOSED OVER IN SOFT TERRAIN.

- [Accident 19920706023859A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19920706023859A), Jul 6, 1992: Scwzer G164A, Swifton, AR, Substantial damage. Engine failed during pullup from a spray run. Supercharger impeller bearing disintegrated.

## Other investigations on N8922H (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
