## Probable cause

THE PILOTS FAILURE TO MAINTAIN DIRECTIONAL CONTROL.

## Sequence of events

DURING A LANDING ON AN AUXILIARY STRIP THE PILOT ALLOWED THE AIRPLANE TO VEER RIGHT AND ENTER LONG GRASS. THE GRASS BECAME ENTANGLED IN THE RIGHT MAIN LAND GEAR PULLING THE AIRPLANE FURTHER TO THE RIGHT. THE AIRPLANE STRUCK A RICE FIELD LEVY AND NOSED OVER TO THE INVERTED POSITION.

## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

- [Accident 19920810030329A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19920810030329A), Aug 10, 1992: Scwzer G164A, Mccrory, AR, Substantial damage. Ran into tall weeds on edge of ag strip. Rotated and struck a levee flipping aircraft onto its back.

## Other investigations on N6636Q (2)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB FTW95LA317](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/FTW95LA317), Jul 27, 1995: Grumman G-164A (N6636Q), Mccrory, AR, substantial damage. Probable cause: THE LOSS OF ENGINE POWER DUE TO A CRACKED CYLINDER. A FACTOR WAS THE LACK OF SUITABLE TERRAIN FOR THE FORCED LANDING.
- [NTSB MKC90LA118](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/MKC90LA118), May 26, 1990: Grumman G-164A (N6636Q), Morton, AR, substantial damage. Probable cause: THE PILOT'S FAILURE TO MAINTAIN DIRECTIONAL CONTROL DUE TO INADEQUATE COMPENSATION FOR WIND CONDITIONS.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
