## Probable cause

LOSS OF ENGINE POWER UNDETERMINED. FACTOR WAS UNSUITABLE TERRAIN.

## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- Loss of engine power, climb - to cruise
  - reason for occurrence undetermined (cause)
- Forced landing, descent - emergency
- Nose over, landing - roll
  - terrain condition - none suitable (contributing factor)
  - terrain condition - wet

## Analysis

DURING A CROSSWIND DEPARTURE THE ENGINE STARTED TO LOSE POWER. THE PILOT ROLLED OUT OF THE TURN AND DUMPED THE LOAD IN AN ATTEMPT TO MAINTAIN FLIGHT. LEVEL FLIGHT COULD NOT BE MAINTAINED AND UPON LANDING IN THE WET RICE FIELD, THE AIRPLANE NOSED OVER. THE CAUSE OF THE POWER LOSS WAS NOT DETERMINED.

## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

- [Accident 19920922038309A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19920922038309A), Sep 22, 1992: Scwzer G164B, Holly Grove, AR, Substantial damage. Reported power loss during a turn. Dumped load but forced down. Nosed over.

## Other investigations on N8075K (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

Probable cause: The pilot's inadvertent stall during a turn to reverse direction during an aerial application flight. A factor was the pilot's chronic fatigue as result of cumulative long workdays.
