## Probable cause

INADVERTENT STALL DURING THE FORCED LANDING APPROACH. A FACTOR WAS THE PARTIAL LOSS OF POWER FOR UNDETERMINED REASONS.

## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- Loss of engine power(partial) - nonmechanical, takeoff - initial climb
  - reason for occurrence undetermined (cause)
- Forced landing, descent - emergency
- In flight collision with object, descent - emergency
  - stall - inadvertent, pilot in command (cause)
  - object - tree(s)
- In flight collision with terrain/water, descent - uncontrolled

## Analysis

THE STUDENT PILOT ON AN ENDORSED SOLO CROSS COUNTRY FLIGHT EXPERIENCED A MOMENTARY PARTIAL POWER LOSS ON CLIMBOUT FOLLOWING A TOUCH AND GO LANDING. ENGINE POWER WAS REGAINED BUT THE AIRPLANE WAS TOO LOW AND TOO SLOW. THEREFORE, WHEN THE PILOT PULLED THE NOSE UP IN AN EFFORT TO CLEAR TREES THE AIRPLANE STALLED, FOLLOWED BY IMPACT WITH TREES AND THE TERRAIN. NO ANOMALIES WERE FOUND WITH THE POWERPLANT AND THE CAUSE OF THE PARTIAL LOSS OF POWER COULD NOT BE DETERMINED.

## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

- [Accident 19920103000129A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19920103000129A), Jan 3, 1992: Beech B19, Bonham, TX, Substantial damage. Engine quit on touch and go. Stalled into trees. Right fuel cell empty. Fuel in left cell. No engine defects.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
