## Probable cause

AIRCRAFT CONTROL NOT MAINTAINED BY PILOT. A FACTOR WAS UNFAVORABLE WIND.

## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- Loss of control - in flight, landing - flare/touchdown
  - weather condition - unfavorable wind (contributing factor)
  - aircraft control - not maintained, pilot in command (cause)
- In flight collision with terrain/water, descent - uncontrolled

## Analysis

AS THE PILOT INITIATED THE LANDING FLARE, UNFORECASTED UNFAVORABLE WINDS CROSSED THE LANDING AREA. THE AIRPLANE WAS BLOWN OVER A PLOWED FIELD AND AS THE LEFT WING WAS LIFTED UPWARD BY THE WIND THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR AND WING IMPACTED THE PLOWED GROUND.
