THE PLTS IN FLT WX BRIEFING CONTAINED THE ADVICE THAT VFR FLT ALONG HIS ROUTE WAS NOT RECOMMENDED BECAUSE THE MT TOPS WERE OBSCURED IN CLOUDS. THE FREEZING LEVEL WAS ALSO REPORTED AS 9000-16000 FT. THERE WERE NO FURTHER COMMUNICATIONS WITH THE ACFT. LOCAL RESIDENTS IN THE AREA OF THE CRASH SAID THAT THE MTS AT THAT POINT WERE IN THE CLOUDS. THE ACFT WAS REPORTED MISSING IN 2/21/83. ## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

- [Accident 19830221034489A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19830221034489A), Feb 21, 1983: Beech N35, Mt Shasta, CA, Destroyed, 4 fatal. Collided with a cloud obscured mountain peak. Throw over control on right non pilot passengers side. Thumbs broken.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
