## Sequence of events

In NTSB's coding before 2008 (https://www.ntsb.gov/GILS/Documents/codman.pdf).

- Loss of engine power(partial) - mech failure/malf, cruise - normal
  - fuel system,strainer - corroded (cause)
  - fuel system,strainer - blocked(partial) (cause)
  - fluid,fuel - starvation (cause)
- Forced landing, landing - flare/touchdown
- Nose over, landing - flare/touchdown
  - terrain condition - rough/uneven (contributing factor)

## Analysis

THE ENG LOST POWER WHILE CRUISING AT 3000 FEET. THE PILOT DETERMINED THAT THE ENGINE POWER LOSS WAS DUE TO A RESTRICTED FUEL LINE JUST AHEAD OF THE GASCOLATOR. A RESTRICTION OF THE INLET PORT OF THE GASOCALATOR RESULTED FROM ELECTROLYTIC CORROSION OF A STEEL PLUG IN THE AUXILIARY INLET PORT IN THE ALUMINUM HOUSING OF THE GASCOLATOR. THE CORROSION BUILDUP APPARENTLY BECAME DISLODGED CLOGGING THE ADJACENT PORT. THE PILOT/BUILDER RECOMMENDED CAUTION IN THE USE OF DISSIMILAR METALS IN THE FUEL SYSTEM.

## FAA reports on this event (1)

The FAA's own accident and incident reports, matched to the aircraft by N-number and date (OpenAirDocs).

- [Accident 19830326009809A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19830326009809A), Mar 26, 1983: Amtrpk TEENIE2, Escondido, CA, Destroyed. Crash occurred during emergency landing when fuel restriction caused engine failure.

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
